Connecting love, sex and divinity...
In many ways, tantra saved my life. Really. My sexual energy was spiraling out of control and I didn’t
know what to do with such an abundance of it. It was sort of like having the keys to a Ferrari and not
knowing how to drive. My relationships had either been full of love or full of sex but I hadn’t quite
managed to have both at the same time.
Then I discovered tantra – not the tantra I’d read about in books, but real, experiential, live-as-it-
happens tantra. I learned that, although raw, primal sexual energy feels really good, when it is
allowed to blend and mix with the energy of the heart, with love, it becomes something entirely
different and utterly amazing. I don’t mean this in any ‘goody-two shoes’ kind of way, I mean it in the
‘knock your socks off, didn’t know this was possible’ kind of way.
If you think about it, love and sex are two of the most potent energies we have flowing through us.
They are often said to be what makes the world go round. Now imagine learning to consciously
combine these two powerful energies - whether to use when you’re being sexual or just living your
everyday life – and wow! Now take that one step further and allow this heady mixture to fuel your
connection to Source, the Universe, Divinity and ‘holy orgasm batman’, what a recipe for bliss,
ecstasy!
This is where tantra’s reputation for mind-blowing sex comes from. It’s not about specific
‘techniques and methods’ for touching the clitoris or how to give the best blowjobs. It’s about getting
present (see last week’s article) and connecting our sexual energy to our hearts and the Universe.
When these three energies begin to connect and flow freely, a whole new world of possibilities
opens up. As you practice consciously connecting sexual energy and love, you’ll come to find that
just allowing love to flow will start to fuel your arousal. My partner has come to affectionately call
this his ‘love hard-on’. And there’s more… you can allow your sexual energy to nourish, heal and
open your heart when it is feeling shut down and protected.
If that’s not enough, the cherry on the cake is union with divinity. (Union with divinity!) When the
blend of sexual energy and love is allowed to travel up through your body, and out through the top of
your head you experience your connection to the Universe, to the All-That-Is.
In this place you are truly free, liberated from ‘ego’, the ‘self’. The mixture of sexual energy and love
is the rocket fuel that blasts you into this cosmic realm. Making love (with yourself or a Beloved)
from this connected, flowing space is literally ‘out of this world’.
I could have carried on having relationships that were full of love or full of sex, where the two never
met. But something in me instinctively knew there was more. My relationship is deeper, fuller and
more intimate because of it. I’m so grateful to have discovered tantra. It has changed my life in every
way and now I am blessed to be able to share it through my work. I look forward to meeting you
